Areas of expertise in the Department include: food engineering; product formulation; separation processes; bioprocessing; energy from hydrogen; minerals processing; sustainable processing; simulation and modelling in: fluid mechanics, atmospheric chemistry and catalysis; and process materials development in: smart polymers, nanomedicine, 2D materials, ceramic materials, adsorbent and catalytic materials.
